Notes:

Home team is the second team listed in the above schedule, e.g. team A @ team B means that team B is the home team.
The home team provides the game ball.
The winning team must report the score to the League statistician.
All games are played at Loma Alta Park in Altadena.
Questions or comments can be sent to the B-League commissioner.
This is the field permit for the spring 2005 season. It's very useful in case conflicts arise (part2) with other groups claiming the field.

GENERAL INFO, RULES, ETC.

B League is competitive
Games on Mondays. Spillover Tuesdays. Start times are 5:30, 6:50, and 8:10.
Location: Loma Alta Park
Paid umpires
One 10-week season
Address any questions, comments, or complaints about the fields or umpires to the commissioner. If there is some such problem, contact him/her the day after the occurrence to ensure prompt corrective action.
The batter starts with a count of 1 ball and 1 strike.
All players must sign a waiver (release). The team manager keeps them and sends a copy to the registrar.

B League has its own special Rules.
Additional ground rule for Loma Alta due to construction in left field: a ball hit over the fence to the left of the light pole in center field is a foul ball. A ball to the right of the pole or that hits it is a home run.

Legal Bats

Date: Mon, 19 Apr 2004 15:30:20 -0700 (PDT) From: FRED LINGAD (head umpire) I have prepared a 2004 SCMAF approved restricted bat list for your league. Please note this is modified for your league (JPL) in accordance to 2004 SCMAF RULES for coed. NO EXCEPTIONS!! All bats must be labeled or stamped "OFFCIAL SOFTBALL" if not because of it being a old bat final decision will be up to the umpire. If week to week one umpire allows and next week different umpire does not allow again it will up to the umpire that night. Any bat that is tampered with or can't read the label will be considered illegal and "not allowed". Can't read it can't use it. Any bat with a unique or weird sound the umpire has the right to not allow bat to be used. All bats must not exceed 1.2 BPF. Bats all must have a proper grip or not allowed.( Tape is OK )
Specifically, this is the 2004 bat list as of April 19, 2004. All bats not listed are legal. For newer models, the umpire has the final say.

DATES

March 11: deadline for teams to join. Managers, give the commissioner:
1. Roster (html, pdf, excel): list of your players, each of whom has signed a waiver.
2. Copies of waivers (html, word). Keep the originals
3. A check for $265 payable to "JPL Softball Program"
Arrange to meet Kelly or Richard to deliver these, OR
Richard will be at the 303 cafeteria patio on Mar 11, 11:45 to 12:45.
If you want to save time, bring a signed team fee deposit form.
April 4: season begins
May 13: roster freeze
May 25: organizational meeting for summer, noon, patio of 303
June 6: deadline for teams to join the summer league. $280.
June 20: summer season begins

ROSTERS

There are three categories of players:

J: JPL or Caltech employees, contractors, students, and retirees
F: family members of J's: spouses, children, parents, and siblings
N: anyone else, at most 20% of the roster or 4 players, whichever is less

Managers, for all roster manipulations, notify the registrar subject to the DATES above. If you want to fill one in on paper, forms are available.
